Librarians are kryptonite

LadyLawLibrarian brought this to my attention today. Apparently, despite a multimillion dollar budget, thousands of trained operatives and an assortment of bodily-harm inducing toys that would make Dr. No drool, the F.B.I. is still unable to rid the world of terrorism because of...librarians. From the NYTimes:

"While radical militant librarians kick us around, true terrorists benefit from OIPR's failure to let us use the tools given to us," read the e-mail message, which was sent by an unidentified F.B.I. official. "This should be an OIPR priority!!!"

I think there are scarier things librarians should be combating, but this is still pretty frickin' awesome.

Librarians are awesome!

Multnomah Public Library began purging their circulation records as soon as we all heard about the Patriot Act. It made me feel so warm and well cared for!
